Sofia Benfeito and Carlos Fernandes researchers won the Paul Ehrlich MedChem Euro-PhD prize in Medicinal Chemistry for the excellence of their PhD theses, supervised by Professor Fernanda Borges. The award was presented at the Paul Ehrlich Euro-PhD Network & MuTaLig COST Action Meeting organized in Catanzaro (Italy) in June 2019.

The aim of the Paul Ehrlich MedChem Euro-PhD network, made up of members from 58th European universities is to provide training at excellence at European level in the field of Medicinal Chemistry for PhD students. For the awarded certificate, it is necessary to have successfully completed the PhD thesis in an area relevant to Medicinal Chemistry and have an exceptional curriculum with publications in international journals, international mobility, and scientific dissemination activities at international level (http://www.pehrlichmedchem.eu/activities.html).
