Brandon Aguiar completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2016 at the University of Porto, Faculty of Sciences and his M.SC degree in Analytical, Clinical and Forensic Toxicology at the University of Porto, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2018.

In 2019, Brandon worked in a research project under the guidance of Prof. Fernanda Borges focused on the development of centrally-active and safe catechol O-methyltransferase inhibitors and in 2020 he became a member of the Medicinal Chemistry group as a research fellow in the project: Redox-active phytochemicals triggering mitochondrial hormesis: developing a new generation of cosmetic active ingredients.

Later in 2020, Brandon started his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Nanotechnology Specialty) under the supervision of Prof. Fernanda Borges, specializing in the development of ROS-Sensitve Nanoparticles for the treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
