Pedro Soares got his Degree and the Master’s Degree in Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, Portugal, in the years 2010 and 2011, respectively. Between 2012 and 2013 he was a member of the Medicinal Group in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and worked on the design and synthesis of antioxidants for the treatment of oxidative-stress related disorders.
In the year 2014 he went to the School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK. In Dundee he obtained his Ph.D. in Life Sciences, in the area of Medicinal Chemistry/Chemical Biology, in October 2018.
Pedro rejoined the Medicinal Chemistry group in September 2018. His research is focused on the design of new chemical entities with potential for the therapy of oxidative stress-related diseases.
